COVID-19 FAQs

What steps is CICA taking to help promote a safe and sanitary environment?

While we cannot guarantee prevention against the transmission of COVID-19, we are taking a number of steps to help ensure our clients and staff remain healthy while coming in for sessions/work —

  • Our entire suite, inclusive of our gender-neutral bathroom, waiting area(s), and collaborative workspaces are all cleaned thoroughly, on a daily basis

  • High-touch surfaces are routinely sanitized by clinicians, between clients (hourly)

  • Each office, and all shared spaces are equipped with FDA-cleared Molekule PECO Air filters. These PECO filters will be upgraded to hybrid PECO/HEPA filters in the coming months

  • All CICA-employed staff (Clinical & Non-Clinical) are required to maintain current COVID-vaccination status

  • All CICA clients must present proof of current vaccination prior to attending an in-person session

Do you offer in-person counseling services?

Yes, we do!

While we took a break from offering face-to-face services between March 2020 and April 2022, we have since resumed normal operations.

Do I have to be vaccinated to attend an in-person session at CICA?

Yes, you do.

In an effort to keep all CICA clients/visitors safe, as noted above, all CICA staff are vaccinated and boosted in accordance with the CDC’s most recent guidance. We require all CICA clients attending in-person sessions to provide proof of vaccination prior to coming in.

I have a medical/religious/other exemption. Can I still be seen in-person?

Unfortunately, no.

While we respect everyone’s right to choose to/not to become vaccinated, we have a strict policy disallowing any in-person sessions for unvaccinated clients. You may choose to work with a CICA clinician via Telehealth, but in-person sessions are only available to those clients who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Do I have to wear a mask during in-person sessions?

No, you do not.

You may, however, wish to wear a mask on your own — perhaps because you’d still like to attend an in-person session while you’re feeling a bit under the weather, have recently had a known COVID exposure, or just out of an abundance of caution due to seasonal/intermittent spikes in COVID-19 incidence rates or other airborne/communicable illnesses.

Please Note: While you may wish to wear a mask as an extra layer of protection, wearing a mask is not an acceptable substitute for proof of vaccination against COVID-19 required to attend in-person sessions.

Do you offer remote counseling services via telehealth?

Yes, we offer telehealth sessions too!

Our practice began offering counseling services remotely on March 13, 2020, and continues to do so today.

Is telehealth safe/secure?

Yes, it is!

We use a safe, simple, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that is fully integrated with the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system our team uses for all documentation, scheduling and billing activity. All data exchanged over this telehealth platform is secured by banking-level encryption, and continuously tested to ensure continued integrity. Click here to learn more!
