Molly Armstrong, LCSW

pronouns: she|her|hers

Molly Armstrong joined Collaborative Insight Counseling Associates, LLC as a licensed Psychotherapist in September 2025.

Molly approaches therapy with curiosity, warmth, and collaboration. She recognizes that many of the patterns people want to change developed for a reason and may have helped them cope, connect, or feel safe. Rather than approaching these patterns with judgment, Molly helps clients understand where they came from, how they are showing up in their lives now, and whether they still serve them.

Molly works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, identity exploration, life transitions, executive functioning challenges, and the many complexities that can come with figuring out who you are and how you want to be in the world. She particularly enjoys working with college students and young adults as they navigate periods of change, independence, relationships, identity development, and uncertainty about what comes next.

Her approach integrates narrative, cognitive behavioral (CBT), dialectical behavioral (DBT), solution-focused, and person-centered therapies within a trauma-informed framework. Depending on what a client needs, sessions may involve exploring the experiences and messages that have shaped the way they understand themselves, identifying patterns in thoughts and relationships, developing and practicing coping or communication skills, or holding space to process something that feels difficult.

I want therapy to be a place where we can get curious about and explore what’s happening in your life, where it may have come from, and what we can do from there. I truly believe people are the experts of their own lives, and I will always meet you where you are and follow your lead.
— Molly Armstrong, LCSW

Molly strives to create a therapeutic relationship in which clients feel comfortable being honest and authentically themselves. She believes meaningful change can come from developing a deeper understanding of yourself while recognizing that therapy does not always have to feel so serious. Humor, personality, and moments of lightness are definitely welcome.

Molly attended Elon University where she earned her B.A. in Psychology and French, and then went on to work for Monte Nido Walden in Waltham, MA as a Mental Health Counselor for two years. Molly then received her Master of Social Work from Boston College on the clinical, mental health track. During her MSW education, Molly was a social work intern providing talk therapy and case management at both Lexington Christian Academy and the New England Conservatory of Music.

Outside of the therapy room, Molly enjoys hot yoga, spending time with friends and family, and exploring Boston. She loves a good reality TV show and is always happy to hear about the latest show, podcast, or song occupying a client’s brain.
